Terror probe prompts Neos Kosmos raid
Counterterrorism police officers raided an apartment in the Athens neighborhood of Neos Cosmos that is believed to have been rented by Grigoris Tsironis, one of the suspects linked to an armed bank robbery last August in Distomo, central Greece, but a search yielded no weapons.
This week, police searched two residences in central Greece which are believed to have been used as safe houses by Tsironis and another man linked to the Distomo robbery, Spyros Christodoulou. The two men were arrested this week. A third accomplice, Spyros Dravilas, killed himself to avoid arrest. Police are probing suspected links between the suspects and criminals with ties to urban guerrilla groups.
