Rural churches in northwestern Greece targeted by robbers
Two churches near Ioannina in northwestern Greece were targeted by unknown robbers over the weekend.
In both cases, unidentified suspects broke into the churches located in the villages of Meropi and Palaiopyrgos, stealing icons and cash from the collection boxes.
Similar incidents have been reported in other churches in the broader area, authorities said.
