Probe into causes of fire at Aspropyrgos recycling plant
The first instance prosecutor’s office launched an investigation Tuesday into the causes of a fire that broke out on Saturday at a recycling plant in Aspropyrgos, west of Athens, and has been belching toxic fumes across the capital since.
The probe comes after Attica Regional Authority filed a suit against persons unknown. The smoke prompted the Health Ministry to issue a warning to Aspropyrgos residents, particularly the elderly, to avoid physical exercise outdoors.
