Turkish fighter jets violate Greek national air space

For the second time in as many days, Turkish fighter jets violated Greek national air space in the central and southeastern Aegean on Wednesday, defense officials said.

A formation of six Turkish aircraft violated air space on 11 occasions, the officials said, adding that two of the jets were armed though no dogfights occurred. In all cases, the Turkish jets were chased off by Greek aircraft.

The Turkish military has stepped up provocations in the Aegean in recent weeks as domestic upheaval increases.
