Assailants smash PASOK HQ during vote
A small group of men attacked PASOK’s headquarters in central Athens early on Monday.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight, forcing journalists who were covering the party’s leadership contest to seek protection inside the building.
The assailants were carrying clubs and other weapons, which they used to smash the main entrance to PASOK’s offices.
As they left, the attackers also threw a Molotov cocktail at a van from public broadcaster ERT, which was there to help cover the ballot to elect the party’s new president.
The van suffered serious damage but nobody was hurt.
