Two arrested for murder of pensioner in Aghioi Theodoroi
Two men, including a former policeman, have been arrested for the murder of an 81-year-old man they abducted from his home in Aghioi Theodoroi, west of Athens.
The two men, aged 46 and 50, allegedly went to the pensioner’s home on Monday and, posing as policemen, said they had to take him in for questioning.
They then drove the man to the home of one of the assailants, where they beat him in an attempt to gain information about money they believed he had hidden in his house. The 81-year-old died during the ordeal and the two men returned to his house to look for the cash.
However, they were discovered at the property by police who went to the house after the pensioner was reported missing.
