House debt audit commission to present first findings

Parliament’s debt audit commission is to announce its preliminary findings Wednesday and Thursday.

The inquiry is being overseen by Parliament Speaker Zoe Constantopoulou, who is due to deliver the committee’s preliminary report on Thursday.

Among those due to speak on Wednesday is Eric Toussaint, a Belgian academic who is the committee’s scientific adviser.

It had been suggested by Constantopoulou’s office that President Prokopis Pavlopoulos was due to give an opening address at Wednesday’s event but sources later said that this would not be the case as he will be meeting with Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann, who is conducting a visit to Greece.
