Yassim from Somalia scrapes old paint off the marble seats high up in the Panathenaic Stadium in central Athens yesterday. Yassim is part of a team repairing the stadium – a restored, marble-clad version of the city’s ancient sports field – ahead of the Summer Olympics when it will host the archery contest and the finish of the Marathon race.
