Tsipras urges SYRIZA MPs to back deal, says no mandate for ‘Grexit’
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has appealed to his SYRIZA lawmakers to support a cash-for-reforms deal with creditors saying that the ruling party has no mandate for “Grexit.”
“We are faced with crucial decisions,” local media quoted the leftist premier as saying during a meeting of his parliamentary group on Friday.
“We have a mandate to bring a better deal than the ultimatum that the Eurogroup gave us, we do not have a mandate to take Greece out of the eurozone,” Tsipras was quoted as saying.
“Either we'll carry on all together or we will all fall together.”
