Police arrest suspect ove counterfeit notes
A 36-year-old Syrian national on Wednesday was being questioned by police after a raid on his home in the Athens neighborhood of Kallithea turned up 67,000 euros in counterfeit notes.
The 36-year-old, who was arrested on Tuesday in Palaio Faliro, faces charges of forgery and trading in counterfeit currency.
Police also found a forged passport and residence permit in the suspect’s possession.
