Workers in Iraklion yesterday remove one of the four stone lions from the early 17th century Morosini Fountain, one of the most popular tourist sites in the northern Cretan town. The Venetian monument is being dismantled for conservation by Culture Ministry experts in Rethymnon. It will be reassembled in May.
