Russian tourist killed by speedboat in Rhodes

Coast guard officers on the southeastern Aegean holiday island of Rhodes on Sunday recovered the body of a 37-year-old Russian tourist who had gone missing the previous day.
The woman’s body was dismembered, leading officers to believe that she was struck by a speedboat propeller as she was swimming off the coast of Afandou beach. Her personal belongings were found abandoned on the beach on Saturday night, prompting the search.
A 43-year-old Swiss man who was seen driving a speedboat for water sports in the area on Saturday has been remanded in custody and was to appear before a prosecutor on Sunday.
