Tax raids around capital uncover multiple violations
Members of the Financial Police conducted surprise raids on Monday on restaurants, bars and medical practices in different parts of Attica as part of a new bid by authorities to raise much-needed revenue by cracking down on tax evasion and uninsured labor.
Checks on businesses in Halandri, Nea Erythraia and Galatsi revealed a series of violations, as did those on doctors’ surgeries in central Athens and the neighborhood of Neo Psychico.
All transgressions were forwarded to local tax offices and branches of the Social Security Foundation (IKA).
