Young men, members of the so-called Old Calendrist sect, dive into Corinth harbor to retrieve a cross in an Epiphany day ceremony yesterday. The 100,000 or so Old Calendrists’ Julian Calendar is 13 days behind the Gregorian Calendar, which the rest of Greece adopted in 1923. The Church of Greece celebrates the Epiphany on Jan. 6.
