Teen arrested, another two sought, for muggings

A 17-year-old boy is suspected by police in Thiva, central Greece, of being the ringleader of a gang that conducted numerous muggings in the area over the past few months. The other two suspected members are being sought by police.

The gang is believed to be behind at least 10 muggings, one in which they used a screwdriver to intimidate their victim and four of which were against women in cars. They are said to have stolen money, jewelry and other valuables such as mobile phones from their victims.

The 17-year-old has a prior record for robberies and was on furlough from a juvenile detention center at the time of his arrest.
