Body of sunken trawler’s Greek captain recovered

The Greek captain of a fishing trawler that sank off the coast of Senegal on Wednesday was found dead by local authorities on Thursday.

The Dimitrios sank with 19 people aboard, of whom 12 were rescued.

No other bodies apart from the Greek captain’s were found on Thursday.

It is believed that the vessel experienced problems caused by bad weather.

Greek authorities are making arrangements for the captain’s body to be shipped home for burial.
