Thessaloniki’s trademark White Tower was shrouded in fog yesterday. At least one flight was canceled and several others delayed at the northern city’s airport. Today, a wave of cold weather, snow and high winds is expected to hit the country, causing further transportation problems. The Civil Defense Secretariat ordered state and local authorities to be on the alert. Winds of up to 11 on the Beaufort scale are possible in the Aegean.
