Teen killer remanded at Corinth juvenile detention center

A 15-year-old youth charged with the murder on Sunday of a 17-year-old in a schoolyard in Kato Achaia in the Peloponnese following a fight between the pair was remanded in custody on Wednesday.

The youth was transferred to a juvenile detention center in Corinth amid tight security after appearing before an investigating magistrate and a prosecutor.

The 15-year-old is alleged to have shot the other teenager with a hunting rifle in the playground of a primary school after a violent row.

The youth’s mother was arrested after the incident on charges of neglecting a minor.

The boy’s father is a truck driver and was on a trip abroad at the time of the shooting.
