Thessaloniki police seize 6,500 packs of illegal smokes
Police on Tuesday seized 6,500 packets of contraband cigarettes yesterday in an apartment in central Thessaloniki that a 49-year-old woman is alleged to have been using as a storage space for the illicit wares.
The woman was arrested earlier in the day after officers found 196 packets of contraband cigarettes in her possession which she allegedly intended to sell on the black market.
She was to face a prosecutor later in the day.
