Former party secretary exits SYRIZA
Tasos Koronakis, who was SYRIZA’s party secretary until recently, announced Thursday that he is quitting the party.
Koronakis quit his position as central committee secretary in August 24, after the government agreed to the terms of the third bailout. He had only been elected to his position a few months earlier.
“My distance from the government’s policies is growing all the time,” said Koronakis in a statement. He underlined, though, that his departure from SYRIZA did not mean that he is poised to join another party. “However, I will remain active in the radical left,” added Koronakis.
