Panousis cryptic after testimony

Former citizens’ protection minister Yiannis Panousis, whose claims that SYRIZA officials threatened him and that leftist cadres have ties with terrorists prompted a judicial probe, testified before a prosecutor on Friday for a second day.

Speaking to reporters after several hours with Supreme Court deputy prosecutor Dimitris Dasoulas, Panousis would not be drawn as to whether he had requested the original audio of phone conversations that allegedly back up his claims of ties between some SYRIZA officials and jailed terrorists.

Earlier this week he had indicated that he would ask for the recordings, which are said to have been made by the National Intelligence Agency (EYP).

Panousis suggested that the purported conversations were leaked to the media after he made his claims, although he did not say who he believed was behind the leaks.
