Family of Patra woman donates organs

The death of a 37-year-old woman from a brain hemorrhage in Patra, western Greece, led to five people getting livesaving transplants following a decision by her family to donate her organs.
The woman’s kidneys went to a man aged 48 who had been on dialysis for over a decade and a 15-year-old boy. Her liver went to a 64-year-old man in Thessaloniki and her heart to a young woman, aged 29, who had been on life support for the past two-and-a-half years. Her lungs were donated to a patient in Hanover, Germany.
