Whirlwind wreaks damage on Corfu

A whirlwind on Corfu on Wednesday damaged homes, roads and uprooted trees in the island’s south.

The damage was most serious around the village of Petriti, in the southeast, and Kouspades, in the south.

The local fire service was working with volunteers on Wednesday to remove fallen trees from roads and repair damage.
