Party leaders to meet on Saturday

Greek party leaders were expected to meet on Saturday at noon at the Presidential Mansion after Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras asked President Prokopis Pavlopoulos to arrange a meeting earlier in the week.

The Greek premier reportedly requested the meeting in order to seek consensus in crucial issues such as pension reform and the refugee crisis.

According to sources, interim New Democracy Yiannis Plakiotakis, PASOK chief Fofi Gennimata, Union of Centrists leader Vassilis Leventis and To Potami head Stavros Theodorakis were expected to take part in the meeting.

Greek Communist Party (KKE) secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas reportedly turned down the invitation, while Golden Dawn head Nikos Michaloliakos was not invited to attend.
