Drugs blamed for trunk body

The death of a young woman whose naked corpse was found stuffed into a wooden trunk in a central Athens street on Friday was attributed yesterday to a drug overdose. Police said they solved the mystery after arresting a woman who said the victim, Chryssoula Frangi, 24, had visited her in her house in the district of Gyzi last week, where both took heroin. According to police, the suspect, identified as Ina Auckland, 36, said Frangi lost consciousness after taking a massive dose of the drug, and fell into a coma from which she never recovered. Auckland allegedly kept the body in her house for two days before finally disposing of it early on Friday morning with the help of two other drug addicts whom she met in the central Athens district of Exarchia. The corpse was found wrapped in a sheet on Friday morning by a man who spotted the trunk between two cars on Pallis Street, Gyzi, and decided to take it to use as a toolbox. An initial examination had attributed the cause of death to asphyxiation.
