Insurance firms donate 3.5 tons of food to Athens homeless program

The City of Athens’s KYADA shelter for homeless people on Wednesday received a donation of 3.5 tons of food and foodstuffs from the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies (EAEE).

KYADA fed more than 700 people at its special Christmas Day lunch and is expected to host as many as 2,000 at its New Year’s event.

On a regular basis, it serves around 1,500 meals a day.
