Men found dead in Mesolongi ditch drowned
Two men found dead on Monday in a car that had fallen into a ditch near Mesolongi drowned, a coroner’s report has found.
The two men, Vassilis Gratsanis, 35, and Yiannis Kordosis, 40, had been reported as missing on New Year’s Day.
It remained unclear how the car they were traveling in fell into the ditch.
The results of toxicology tests conducted on the bodies of the two men are expected to shed further light on the circumstances on their deaths in the coming days.
An investigation by police in the area aimed at determining whether the car the two men were traveling in had crashed into another vehicle before plunging into the ditch remained inconclusive on Tuesday.
