Gennimata congratulates Mitsotakis but says chasm separates them
PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata congratulated Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday for being elected New Democracy leader but immediately made it clear that the Socialists do not agree with his ideas.
“There is a chasm between our views and those of Mr Mitsotakis,” said Gennimata in a statement.
“Our obligation is to work to strengthen our own house, which is European social democracy and I intend to adopt new initiatives in this direction soon,” she added.
