Police looking for driver in deadly hit-and-run
Police on Sunday were looking for the driver of a car who killed a motorcyclist in central Athens on Saturday and abandoned the victim.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon on Constantinoupoleos Street in the Kolonos neighborhood. The driver made an abrupt turn, hitting a 53-year-old motorcyclist on the busy thoroughfare. The motorcycle driver was killed in the crash. The driver of the car sped off and is now being sought by authorities.
If caught, he or she will face charges of manslaughter.
Police has appealed to the public for help in tracking down the car driver. Anyone who witnessed the incident is advised to report it to the nearest police station.
