Trolley bus torched in Athens

Unidentified arsonists threw Molotov cocktail bombs at a trolley bus in central Athens in the early hours of Friday, authorities announced.

Early reports suggested the hooded perpetrators approached the trolley bus at the terminus on Bouboulinas Street and forced the driver and one passenger to step off.

They subsequently launched Molotov cocktail bombs setting the trolley on fire. No one was injured, but the vehicle sustained significant damage.

Police were investigating the incident.
