Mother, stepfather charged with son’s murder
The mother and stepfather of a 23-year-old man from Siatista, Kozani, were arrested for his murder on Friday, authorities announced. The victim, Costis Polyzos, had been reported missing in February 2011, while his body was discovered buried in a field in September that year.
According to police reports, the suspects had taken out a loan in the victim’s name, a move which subsequently led to a series of family disputes.
Authorities allege the stepfather killed the victim during a row in the family home and subsequently buried the body in a field aided by his wife.
