Man arrested for leaving fetus jars out with the trash

The 35-year-old son of a gynecologist was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly left 12 jars containing fetuses in formaldehyde, at various levels of development, next to a trash bin in central Athens.
Preserved fetuses belong to a special medical waste category and as such are subject to special waste management rules.
According to reports, the 35-year-old told policemen he had found the jars while cleaning the home of his father, a former maternity clinic chief who died last year.
