No trials were expected to take place across the country this week as Greek bar associations were extending protest action through February 22, in protest to the government’s planned pension reforms.
Members of the Greek dockers’ union (OMYLE), as well as dockworkers in Piraeus, were expected to join forces in a 48-hour strike on Tuesday and Wednesday, in reaction to the sale of a majority stake of Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) to China’s Cosco.
Elementary and secondary school teachers will be walking off the job on Wednesday starting at noon, while engineers were also expected to announce fresh action this week, following a strike last week.
