Greece’s winter death toll from flu rises to 93

Twelve people died from the H1N1 virus in Greece over the weekend, raising the number of dead to 93 this winter, according to Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO).

According to recent figures released by KEELPNO, 99 patients were still being treated at intensive care units.

Authorities said 295 patients had been treated at ICUs so far, including 19 children, aged from 9 months to 16 years, five of whom had died.

The virus is expected to reach its peak by the end of the month, KEELPNO said.
