Hellas Gold to file defamation suit against Skourletis
Paul Wright, chief executive officer of Hellas Gold’s parent company Eldorado Gold is to file a defamation suit against Greece’e Energy Minister Panos Skourletis, it was announced on Thursday.
The suit was expected to be filed following comments made by the Greek minister in a recent interview with Bloomberg.
In the interview, Skourletis alleged that Wright had shorted company shares, accusations which Wright said were “groundless and false.”
In a statement released on Thursday, Hellas Gold noted that any compensation arising from the case would go to Greek charities.
