Swedish man arrested at Athens airport over ‘hot’ passports
A Swedish national was arrested at Athens International Airport on Thursday for the illegal possession of 31 passports hidden in a microwave oven.
Police said the man was arrested at the departures terminal as he prepared to board a flight to Istanbul and that 15 of the confiscated passports were listed as stolen or missing in the Schengen area’s database.
He was to appear on Thursday before an Athens prosecutor.
