Experts from Greek sell-off agency charged

Experts of the state privatization fund TAIPED have been charged with felony by an anti-corruption prosecutor after ruling that the Greek state suffered losses from the sale of 28 state-owned properties.

The transactions took place in 2014 as part of the country’s privatization drive.

However, according to Greek law, the buck stops with the experts, as TAIPED’s administrative officials cannot face charges if their decisions are approved by the organization’s scientific council and Greece’s Court of Audit.
