Private sector workers’ union plans 48-hour action

The General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE) has announced that it plans to call a two-day nationwide strike protesting pension reforms, on a date to be decided by its executive committee.

The union said in a statement that it will continue the fight against “the pension armageddon” and accused the government of pretending to negotiate with the country’s creditors while having already reached an agreement.

“The workers are well aware of the the government’s public relations tricks,” the GSEE said, vowing to continue the fight until the government abandons the measures “that have impoverished Greek society.”
