US F-16s fly low over Athens for Acropolis photo shoot

US fighter jets flew low over Athens on Wednesday morning so they could be photographed passing over the Acropolis.
The two US F-15s were accompanied by three Greek F-16s, one of which contained the photographic equipment used to record the images of the jets flying over the Acropolis.
The noise created by their low flight caused bemusement among many Athenians.
The American planes were taking part in the Iniohos 2016 military exercise at Andravida air base, which also involved the Greek and Israeli air forces.
Twelve F-15E aircraft and approximately 260 US airmen are participating in the training event.
