The content of the tender for the four national TV licenses the government plans to award was put to public consultation on Friday.
The consultation period will last one week and the tender is due to be published in the Government Gazette on April 25. Interest can be registered until June 9. Authorities will announce the final list of bidders who fulfill certain criteria on July 22. The auction for the permits will be held between July 25 and 30.
The winning bidders will have the right to broadcast “general content” across Greece in high definition (HD).
The government has come under heavy criticism for limiting the number of licenses to just four.
