Police try to pinpoint electronic voyeurs

Attica police were yesterday carefully examining large quantities of confiscated pornographic tapes that showed unsuspecting members of the public in toilets and changing rooms, in a bid to trace the hidden cameras used to take the footage. The material was seized in an Athens sex shop last week, following a tip-off from a suspect in an Internet child pornography case who said he had bought much of his material at the Kallithea establishment. The shop owner and his assistant were arrested and charged with distributing child pornography and breaches of the privacy law. Video tapes found in the sex shop showed women undressing in toilets, clothing shop changing rooms, public showers and hotel rooms, and who appeared to be unaware that they were being filmed. Police want to find the locations and establish who installed the cameras.
