Two Turkish jets fly over Aegean islet

Turkish fighter jets violated Greek air space in the southern Aegean on Wednesday, flying over the small island of Ro during a visit there by Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, chief of the National Defense General Staff (GEETHA).

Two Turkish F-16s entered the Athens Flight Information Region shortly before 2.30 p.m. and then again 15 minutes later, at 27,500 feet above Ro, east of Rhodes.

The two aircraft were chased off by Greek fighter planes, according to Greek defense officials.
