Court delays decision for extradition to Cyprus of construction magnate

The Council of Appeal Court Judges delayed on Friday until Wednesday its decision on whether to extradite construction magnate Leonidas Bobolas to Cyprus, where he is wanted in connection to an investigation into waste management contracts.
The Cypriot investigation concerns Helector, a subsidiary of Ellaktor, where Bobolas is the CEO, and how it gained contracts to run the Marathounda and Koshi landfills on Cyprus.
Appearing before the Greek judges on Friday, Bobolas said that he wants to be tried in Greece. His lawyers argued that all the offenses Bobolas is accused of, bar one, are alleged to have taken place in Greece.
