Residents of western Thessaloniki staged a demonstration yesterday, demanding that some 200 tons of pesticides be removed from the site of a disused factory in the area where a fire broke out on February 7, burning some of the chemicals. Protesters have appealed to local authorities for the Diana factory to be demolished and a park to be built in its place.
