Katrivanou to remain in SYRIZA after quitting as MP

Vasiliki Katrivanou, who stepped down as an MP on Monday after voting against two articles in the multi-bill, said on Tuesday that she will not quit the ruling SYRIZA party.
In a statement published in Avgi newspaper, Katrivanou said that she would remain a member of the leftist party despite voting against legislation for the creation of a new privatization fund and the fiscal mechanism.
Katrivanou, who was elected last September in the Athens B constituency, was replaced by Giorgos Kyritsis, who is also the government’s spokesman for the refugee issue.
