Nurses to walk off the job Friday
The union representing nurses working at public hospitals has called on its members to participate in a 24-hour strike on Friday. Unionists were also organizing a protest march to the Ministry of Health on the same day.
Nurses were demanding sufficient funding for health facilities and the appointment of staff at intensive care units across Greece, among other issues.
The federation of public hospital workers, POEDIN, has called a 24-hour strike on June 8.
