Three dead, 302 people rescued from migrant boat
Greek authorities say three bodies have been recovered and 302 people have been rescued so far from a half-sunken migrant boat carrying a “significant number” of people south of Crete.
Greece sent two patrol boats and two helicopters to the area, 75 nautical miles south of Crete in international waters, while four passing ships were participating in the rescue operation Friday. It was unclear how many people had been on board the 25-30 meter (82-98 foot) boat.
