Greek police catch pair accused of sex trafficking

Officers of the Greek Police’s organized crime and people trafficking department on Friday arrested two people, a 43-year-old Syrian man and a 38-year-old Ukrainian woman, accused of luring a 21-year-old Hungarian woman with a promise of legitimate employment before detaining her in a central Athens apartment and forcing her to work as a prostitute.

The pair allegedly attracted the 21-year-old with an advertisement on the internet before trapping her in an apartment and using threats and violence to force her into selling sex for their profit.

The pair face charges of sex trafficking and weapons possession.
