Bus, trolley torched in central Athens

A bus and a trolley were severely damaged on Patission Street near Omonia Square, central Athens, late on Wednesday after being targeted by a group of unknown assailants hurling Molotov cocktails.

Early reports suggested that about 15 passengers were forced to disembark from the bus before the suspects carried out the attack.

Riot police forces arriving on the scene used tear gas to disperse the perpetrators. No injuries were reported, while no arrests were made in connection to the incident, authorities said.
