Anarchist group holds ministry sit-in to protest public transport ticket inspections
Members of anarchist group Rouvikonas held a sit-in at the Transport Ministry’s inspectors department on Thursday, protesting at public transport ticket inspections. Ten people were detained, authorities said.
In a statement posted on an anti-establishment site on the Internet on Thursday, the group called on ministry inspectors to refrain from carrying out checks and allow “the poor to get away with it.”
The group also called on passengers to pass on their tickets to other passengers at the end of their journey and alert fellow passengers of the presence of inspectors.
